About ISQA

By practitioners, for practitioners

ISQA (Indonesia Software Quality Assurance) is the community of software quality assurance and testing practitioners in Indonesia. Founded in 2016, it now has more than 9,000 members and is the largest QA community in the country, run by practitioners, for practitioners.

Regional chapters in Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Bali hold regular offline meetups, and the talks are recorded for ISQA’s YouTube channel. ISQA Conference was the first QA conference in Indonesia initiated and organised entirely by the community.

ISQA is supported by the Indonesia Software Testing Board (IDSTB), the official ISTQB member board and TMMi local chapter in Indonesia, which has a memorandum of understanding with Badan Standardisasi Nasional (BSN).

  1. 2016

ISQA is founded by Reifa Tangon, Matius Kristian and Andiarto Prabowo. The first meetup starts small.

  2. 2018

The community grows to 2,000 members as Indonesia's dedicated QA community.

  3. 2020–2023

Rapid growth and industry recognition. Members move into QA leadership roles and regional chapters open.

  4. 2024–2025

8,000+ members, with chapters in major Indonesian cities hosting some of Southeast Asia's largest QA meetups.

  5. 2026

ISQA Conference 2026 marks 10 years of ISQA: 370 attendees join two days online.

  6. 2027

ISQA Conference goes hybrid: workshops, a Testathon and a conference day in Jakarta, streamed online.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What is ISQA Conference 2027?

The annual conference of ISQA, Indonesia’s largest software quality assurance community. In 2027 it goes hybrid for the first time: a day of hands-on workshops and a Testathon, followed by a conference day in Jakarta that is streamed live on Zoom.

When and where is it?

In Jakarta in April 2027. We will announce the exact dates and venue soon. Follow ISQA on LinkedIn or Instagram to hear first.

Can I join online?

Yes. The Day 2 conference sessions are streamed live on Zoom. The workshops and the Testathon on Day 1 are onsite only.

How does the Testathon work?

Teams of two test a web application that stays secret until the start, with defects deliberately planted in it. You have 3 hours, a laptop and a web browser; nothing to install. The judges look at your testing fundamentals: how you think about risk and decide what to test, how you design and run your tests, which defects you find, and how clearly you report them and the quality of the product. AI is changing how we work, and that makes these foundations more important, not less. The top three teams receive their awards on stage on Day 2. Registration opens together with ticket sales.

I want to speak. How do I apply?

Submit a proposal through the Call for Papers. We welcome first-time speakers and are happy to help you shape your talk.

My company wants to sponsor. Who do I contact?

Visit the sponsorship page to see what is available and send us an inquiry. We will reply within a few working days.

When do tickets go on sale?

Early 2027. Leave your details through our social channels to be notified when registration opens.
